I saw the animation but I did complete and look shortly after 10 this morning.
Any clue when is the next quest (maybe Halloween) becomes live ?
I did complete the event on Windows, but I would not call it easy...the CW collection was frustrating to say the least. That was rather harsh @Blue Aero especially so with many on ios reporting near 0 drops for CW during
the events entirety. I inconceivably finished at 4 AM by setting an alarm multiple times to try and get the
last CW item I needed. Got to my last 8 planes landed, nothing, had a full fuel supply and a couple extra fuel 50s
so put them in allowing for 3 instant complete flights to LA. On the last one the stupid vacuum pump dropped.
BTW I saw no animation just a pop up saying I completed the event with no animation just all lava and volcano gone.
Kind of annoying that evidently I needed to be up to see this. Very few easily finished this event and those that did find
it easy were all on windows. I would think you would understand many players frustration with your history dealing with GI.
Yea, I saw it. It was very cool. Although the tank looks like a medicine capsule.
Not sure if developers will post any of their "secret of programming".Free2Play (sorry kitten...)
Ivan, I am still waiting for an official explanation on what happened to the iOS Cold War collection drop rates for the Age of Ash quest. If you read through the forum, whoever got the CW in place on iOS had to purchase chests. I personally was so pissed that I am not inclined to buy anything from the bank from now on, as I felt cheated. If it wasn't a bug, then tell us please how the drop rates were programmed, whether there was a specific strategy (i.e. sell jumbos and buy jets, or vice versa!!!) so that we at least find some sort of closure. If it was a bug, at least find a way to compensate us *i.e. rerun the contest for iOS only at a later stage, just like windows had the university quest this year).

Chances for the Cold War collection were really low. That's it.
Larger planes that require more fuel and passengers always have higher chance of getting anything, when we're speaking of the same collection that can be acquired from several flights, because it costs you more to launch them. The optimal strategy for completing any event is dedicating all your resources to it from day one it's available, use any and all bonuses and fuel that you saved up previously, and use the biggest planes you have available at your level.
I can't get into more detail, as obviously all game mechanics are under NDA. I share what I can. But seeing how offensive many people treat those insights, almost calling me a liar outright, I wonder if it's a good idea to share anything. It's not a corporate account, I'm not obliged to come here by any means, I come here only because I'm genuinely interested in what you think about the game.
I hope you enjoy other quests to come, as they'll be easier.
The problem was not about dedicating resources, the problem was that even though we dedicated ALL resources, there was zero reward. As @Gt city said above, it was not anymore a matter of strategy, rather than pure luck. Obviously I don't expect you to share the details to that extent, but at least look at it from a customer's standpoint; we try all bonuses, all combos (obviously I was flying Thunderbirds, which like you said, cost much more than Jets and didn't make any difference when I switched to jets or jumbos), and still nothing (I had 2 drops for more than 300 or so flights - with and without bonuses, with all types of combo bonuses, etc.).
Anyhow. I don't want easy. Easy was buying the chests to get the reward, but that's not the definition of easy. I want something like for example the Pharaoh's quests, which was hard, but you could tell that whenever you activated a bonus, or whenever you used different strategy, you could see visible results. For example, I used greens to buy Spy Glass, because I knew it worked when I ran out of them. If I see that nothing works, which was the case in the Age of Ash, I simply move on.
Thanks for the answer, although I am still left with a bitter taste that I was somehow cheated.
