Android Age of Ash - ALL Platforms

An ancient volcano has become active not far from Airport City! Nature has the potential to wreak havoc, and all signs are pointing to a disaster of unbelievable proportions. Hurry to the game, and help your citizens prevent this catastrophe!

The Age of Ash event is available to all players level 8+. It features new quests, collections, buildings, and flights!

To successfully complete the event you’ll need to:
⦁ Complete the Gates of Hell collection
⦁ Build an Institute of Volcanology
⦁ Complete the They're Not Rocks, They're Minerals collection
⦁ Complete the Cold War collection

Complete the adventure in time, and you’ll get the Capitol as a reward! This building will generate a random collection item every day and will also increase the population cap of your city.

We’ve also got a small bonus for you! If you complete the Cold War Collection 10 times, you’ll receive the Jumbo Ranger as a gift. It’s a modified version of the staple Jumbo Jet that is 20% faster!

Age of Ash event completion chart

To successfully complete the event, you’ll need to complete the following steps:

⦁ Burnt Trees are scattered all across your city and the cities of your neighbors. Study them in your neighbors’ cities to find a Chainsaw, which will allow you to study the Burnt Trees in your own city. The trees will give you items from the Gates of Hell collection, as well as the Particulate Filter, which is needed to perform volcanic fights.

⦁ You can give the Chainsaw to your friends, as well as receive it from them as a present.
⦁ Send volcanic flights to Mount Elbrus, Mount Fuji, Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Etna, Mount Vesuvius, Krakatoa, Mauna Loa, and Eyjafjallajokull. Collect items from the Volcanologist Equipment collection, complete it, and then you’ll be able to construct the Institute of Volcanology!
⦁ Visiting the Institute of Volcanology will give you a Jackhammer, which you can use to study the Volcano near your city. Studying the Volcano will give you items from the They're Not Rocks, They're Minerals collection.
⦁ To complete the last quest, send flights to Bali, Los Angeles, Lima, Iceland, Seattle, Bogota, Anchorage and Osaka and complete the Cold War collection.

A New building!

The Institute of Volcanology - You can get this building by completing the Volcanologist Equipment collection. It’s a commercial building that generates 36 coins every 20 minutes, as well as a consumable item for studying the Volcano — the Jackhammer.

After rebooting I finally got my roads fixed but still can't send gifts...what a dang pain!

K, so now my gifts won't go out and I too have broken roads. Is this going to be another platform fix or do I need to send my 11th ticket?

It looks this is a small bug. I had it too on both games. Full close and reopen of the game helped, the bug dissapeared.

I did update on android the first hour when it came out. All works fine, except the road problem at beginning. I can send /receive gifts. Will send you Chainsaw now, let me know if you get it...

I used the A Friend in Need bonus and the Sky Captain bonus and I got 22 Chainsaws from (10x12) 120 neighbor taps. Using those 22 Chainsaws I tapped Burnt Trees in my city and got four Particulate Filters. Will do again tomorrow to see if the results (hopefully) improve.

Add a few more bonuses, I got 60+ chainsaws and about one in three filter drops.

To add to these figures; today I didn't use any bonus and from (5 x 12) 60 neighbour taps I got 10 chainsaws (and one collection item). From the 10 chainsaws I got 3 filters and from the 3 flights I got 2 collection items dropped.

I visited twelve neighbors with ten taps each and earned 64 Chainsaws. Tapping 64 Burnt Trees got me 27 Particulate Filters plus five drops for the Gates of Hell Collection.
This works for me.

I'm seeing a number of people with 5-6 Institutes of Volcanology - how on earth are they getting them so fast??? Or was this something offered in the past?

I've gone through about 70 chainsaws and got 26 particulate filters and 4 of 5 items for Gates of Hell. But I am NO WHERE near building an Institute! In fact, I have had 0 drops from planes. Using spyglass and sky captain. Help is appreciated from those who already have their institutes of volcanology.

You need save your flights up and use bonuses, drops for the institutes are quite good I thought.

I cried too soon. I had been doing the regular flights (bali, LA, etc.) and not getting drops from them, and didn't understand how to get the institute. But I started the flights requiring the filters, and got some good drops with the bonuses - got my first institute.

So now I'll quit my bitchin' and get on with flying - having hopes for this event after all.

After 2 days and 79 flights to Anchorage still no drops for Cold War collection -> no. of days needed for (at least) 15 items = infinity

Don't think if I have done something special except delaying a day in the event, but glad it is working.

I have 6 Institute, 2 since yesterday and got another 4 today. It looks a huge help was a bunch of bunuses: Sky Captain, Spy Glass, Dice and Golden Dice.
I did use Turboprop (2 starts achieved) and Jets (one star achieved) for Volcano special destinations. Those 6 Institutes gives me Jackhammer almost every time, 5-6 every 20 minutes all together.
I did use 3 Jackhammers till now, no drop of any mineral from it... then 59m 55sec nothing.
Not sure, should i do something more or what?
Drops from Burns trees are good so far, with all bonuses. Also i have Friend in Need bonus enabled, so i can do 10 clicks on each neighbor. 4-9 Chainsaw from each neighbor.

Drops from other destinations for another collections, 1 drop only so far...
