being the devil's advocate here: perhaps with the world-wide trend to not build/support windows apps anymore this is a way to disencourage windows players? so they hope windows players stop using the windows-app, the #downloads decrease and they can convince management it is not affordable...

Besides they let us know that MS is waiting for the approval, i sent GI an e-mail to complain about the fact that the event is not started which should be update-independent (that was one of the better updates a few versions ago) so hopefully more forum members will contact them...
