For some reason I get an message about having to many friends to redeem the weekend code, I am using Windows 10, PC and have used it before? This makes no sense to me.

Try to reduce number of your neighbors and especially the waiting list. Delete sleepers and old unanswered requests. It should help.

Also, you are limited to the number of friend requests you can make in a day.
