I updated but..........................
I can fly places, visit, collect items from neighbors, and even receive gifts from everyone but night flyer1 refuses to allow me to send gifts.
night flyer2 which is on the same laptop/hard drive however seems to be just fine as I did a quick return gifts back last night for test purposes.

I have my favorite GI support person, Mary heiden working on resolving the issue already.

Feel for you, at least you now have a personal GI specialist - they must know you so well!

For those of you with access to my Drones (WHEN MY DRONE GETS THE QUEST THAT IS!) and my main accounts - I will send chainsaws if your scree name asks for them or if you let me know by PM that you want them instead of Fuel(20) I am only doing the quest on my Main GBS account - so as usual send gifts there NOT TO THE DRONES

@Joe7 I know it was probably a mistake but please remember not to return gifts to my drone!

My first drone (gbs3-droneNoGift) Has one vacancy left
and my second drone (gbs4-droneNoGift) is now up to level 10 so is ready to deliver
Fuel(20) (or quest item) daily to up to 19 fairly regular gifters

If you would like to join one of my drones Please PM your friend code to me with the subject Drone in the title - I will then send a request to the first 19 people responding. I will post again when they are full.

Please note that to be fair to all each neighbour can only join one of my drones.

All my neighbors should now have received between 1 and 4 gifts in the last 24 hour period.
I consider this caught up for the not returned gifts during my short absence. As always I do not
track gifts received but continue my rotation of gifts whether I received a gift or not.

LOL I was kind of being sarcastic about my favorite GI support team, although Mary has helped me more over the last 2+ years with issues than given me a hard time.
I've since learned that if an issue is ongoing and you can get multiple screenshots of the problem as it happens, sort of like frame by frame, with the time and date showing on the taskbar, that always pushes the support ticket faster.

I was doing the quest anyway but I do think it is unfair of GI to penalise people who choose not to by increasing the fuel needed on flights - I hope this is not going to become a regular thing as I often opt out of quests.

I've used already several chainsaws but they didn't bring me anything.
I could only visit 1 volcano in a friend city, most of the time it isn't possible. Should we need something special for it or maybe it's only the volcano in our city but therefore we need a jackhamme and don't have this.

Keep on trying, it's fun to see how far I can come with the event.

Don't visit the volcano because that dosen't drop items for visitors

I got 5 vulcanology buildings in night flyer1 city that give jackhammers, although I'm not sure they can be obtained by visiting neighbors.
And speaking of neighbors from A-Z; somewhere in between those letters I managed to send gifts out from night flyer1 city.
19 chainsaws and I think an Ereader, I hit on the return button. So the gifts were random selections for the most part.
No I haven't gotten a heads up on the issue from Mary Heiden yet, why this happened. Hopefully a quick glitch and it was a quick fix on the reset of the gifting/visit clock.
The sad story of all this, though is I lost my time with the sky captain bonus, two alarm clocks, a family ticket, and a Matryoshka doll; all of which I never thought of taking screenshots of.
My greenies are still intact, but like Hurricane Matthew, unfortunately many passengers had flights that were canceled today.
My thoughts and prayers go out to those who endured the severity of Matthew. It's never a good thing trying to survive extreme weather of any sort.
