General Launch window

If I want to try to join a launch and don't see one open, does it update? Can t remain open until someone starts one I can join? I find it very hard to help others out on this and don't like to start my own if I can't finish one alone.

I'd like to see others show "RedLaunch" after my name until I have others to join in (then I change my name/request back). It seems increasingly difficult to find launches in progress even tho I have 60+ friends. Any advice?

Launches show up instantly. No refresh every X minutes. Refreshes every time you click on the launch preparation icon in top right.
If you leave it open waiting for someone to pop up, it'll never show until you exit and hit launch preparations icon again.
