Windows Users -- update AC in the Microsoft store to get the Long-Awaited Mail event

Exactly what the title says
If you are using the Windows version of AC from the Microsoft Store, then there is now an update within the Microsoft Store. Once this is downloaded, you will be able to play the Long-Awaited Mail event (yay!).

(and we are working to update the Wiki page -- it has been a while since this event was last offered and there have been considerable changes)

I had to go to Apps, then Library and find the update. (I won't lie, it was as bit of a PIA to find)

Thing is they did nothing about the bug. It still crashes like it used too, making the game unplayable for many of us. Meanwhile, the stable GI version has not been updated yet.

I wonder how they even dare to call it a competition ranking when so many people start with such disadvantage, or even worse or it is still unknown when and if they will start.
GI never announce anything on their official page, pretending not tho read any of the dozens of complaints by frustrated players. So unprofessional i can't believe they keep doing it over and over again.

As far as I can see, the way of purchasing has changed for Windows users. Your purchases now go through your Microsoft account.

Hi, it seems the easiest way to update the game on PC is to download their installer from official website. It updated the game just fine...
At least for those who don't have the game from Microsoft store..

With the GI Windows application (on the official site) , you can only have one game per computer, this is not the case with the game loaded from the Windows store

This is the first cause of the problem, for me everything went well

Try restarting your computer or otherwise contact support

Update: you have to launch the update and not the installation; there are 2 buttons

found this file "0EB8BD08.AirportCityG_v89zhzetxykqt " in my system c: drive and deleted it, then it downloaded and installed to the current, version. all is good
