What to do with Ectoplasm now

Hi all, I’m around about 4,000 currently on Ectoplasm and see the event ends in a few days.

This is my first ever attempt at an event, having started the game a month ago, so I just wondered, what happens to that Ectoplasm once it is over? Will I still be able to access it?

I can see I can buy some buildings or bonuses; what is everyone else doing with theirs?

Good uses of event currency:
Fuel Additive, if you use more fuel than you generate.
I also personally like the repair set and items set as they just give you a boost.

I don't bother with the buildings as there are better buildings to put in the space I have. You could get buildings and replace them with better buildings latter, as you get them.

And unless you have gold subscription, I find repair item boxes usefull too.
You get some coins for all points that will remain at the end of event, but it is not worthy. It is like some hundrets...
