What means the button ‚Restoring game resources‘ in the section settings?

Hello,
as I somehow lost all my neighbors I wonder whether pressing this button may help?
Does anybody know what happens if this button is hit?

Re-downloads the last update which can also clear up game resources on device (e.g. free up space) but nothing for friends\neighbors. Need to open ticket with GI or possibly restore backup if on Windows.

Sometimes simply restarting or visiting Madlen will restore your neighbors.

The Restoring Game Resources option (as Maverick said) is to make sure you have the correct current code for the game and deletes old backups. I've gone from 5GB to under 500MB on games after using the option.

It won't hurt your game. But it may help.

My game size went from almost 5Gb to 580Mb by using that "Restoring game resources" button, and seems a little faster as well. I was always wondering why the size kept growing.
