I have emailed GI about this, and apparently not. They say "I should inform you that currently there is no opportunity to use promo codes in the game for iOS and Win8 devices according to the Terms of Services and Policy. Please, note that this feature is not a whim of developers but is a result of system requirements of an application for platform devices" thus passing the blame to windows. I have not managed to find an easy way to earn greenies, but if anybody has any suggestions, would welcome them!
