I'm still on holiday with little time to play AC. Of course this is when GI would introduce a new (old) quest. So I am changing my "holiday" gifting philosophy.
Until the end of this quest, my Waverly huff game will return any Old Horseshoes and Silver Sickles sent to it.
When the quest ends, I will return to personalized gifting.

by cutting down clover fields around your city and airport using silver sickles. I know i got one doing that
Not sure if you could get them by visiting other airports.
