Hope somebody knows the answer to this.

If someone sends me something (eg disposable shampoo) and it's not in the list of items I can send, what actually gets sent if I "send in return"?

Supposedly the closest match.
Unless a few posters experiment there really is no definitive answer.

I have tested that if someone sends you an item which is at position 10 in their list, but if your own level is lower and you only have 8 items open, the Send in Return button does not immediately send something but shows you your list so you can pick something.

This leads one to believe that Send in Return sends the item which you have in the same position in your own list as the incoming item was in the sender's list.

In other words, Send in Return is really rather misleading and useless - all it does is save you a few clicks of going through the normal gift screens. And worse, you're not even sure what you have sent unless you know both lists.

You can't send something not in your own list, even if you are sent it.

And on iPad, Shampoo is the one item which has to be bought with green notes - it can't be gifted or got from a flight. There are already many comments here on the Forum about the Hotel. See my comment at #86 here for instance.

Second, shampoo can be gifted from android since a few month and does not need to be bought.
I have 4 hotels on iPhone without spending 1 greenie
