General Red launch and gold tokens?

I saw an old thread mentioning that gold tokens can be earned through red launch. However, I found it is not the case as I could do red launch recently. The captain only get 30 silver tokens, no gold. Gold can be obtained only through adventure collection and being ranked top in weekly flights/launches. Was there a good old time to earn gold tokens in Red launch or is it just a wrong statement?
