Green Launch New to Airport City - Is there any advantage to doing a private launch?

I have the lowest level of launchpad - green. I noticed last time I launched, there was a button I could click that said "private launch," like nobody else could join in. Does doing that give you more, like give you what someone else would've gotten if they'd joined in? Or is what I get when it lands the same either way, so I'm better off not clicking it and letting someone else contribute so that I have more left for a future launch?

Basically everything that you have said is correct. The private launch has a could of advantages/uses.

First, completely private launches no one can hijack. Second, you can control who joins. This is done by asking someone if they want to join your launch. When they say yes, you can turn off private launch, let them join, then turn back on private launch. Now it is just you and whomever you let join. Third, if you do not want to be hijacked, you can keep the launch private until you get to 50% + 181, then turn off private launch to let others join and use their resources. Fourth, I do this occasionally, when I need to burn off items that are low launch value, but long time period between uses (explosive bolts, small fuel tanks, stabilizers, solid fuel), and want to save my high value launch items. This prevents anyone launching before I can burn these items off and protects me from being hijacked while burning these items off.

Some of these uses obviously overlap.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I get the picture now. I didn't even know someone could do that. Now I do.
