General Need advice to optimize my city

Hi everyone,

Here's my first question to check what I must do next. Right now, I'm level 29 (started less than 1 month ago) with 34 stars. Right now, I'm working to collect 80,000 gold but I'm unsure what to get first :

-Upgrade terminal to level 5 to have a max of 520 pax.
-Build a Flight Catering Facility since all flights after Dubai require it.

My feeling would be to go upgrade the terminal to have a max of 520 passenger and fly planes to collect stars until I collect another 80,000 gold for the Flight Catering Facility. Am I right ?

I'm also struggling to fill pax since the TH5 isn't completed yet, remaining for materials to be collected and I'm already at max. Are there suggestions to replace a few building to yield more pax ?

Terminal is just a capacity, what matters is production. There is no real need to upgrade the Terminal until you have a plane that's bigger than your current Terminal. Only Giants carry 500 passengers and I advise you stay away from them for next few months.
If you're running short on passengers then build more housing.
If you're short on real estate, pop or power then get rid of coin buildings. They don't make meaningful amounts of coins. You make coins from visiting friends with Planetariums and launching space missions.

What you need is space program:
- buildings (Mission Control Center, Launch Pads 1&3),
- neighbors with 5 Planetariums and Training Centers to visit (aka "plunder") to fuel your launches
- a good team which does lots of launches

Catering facilities are good, the sooner you start building them, the better. But do you know they require items to finish? There is no point of starting construction unless you're able to finish it, it's just frozen assets otherwise. http://airportcity.wikia.com/wiki/Flight_Catering_Facility You'll need 6 of this building, that's 18 of each item. You can start asking neighbors for them.

@Agent_L is right, Space program, Planetarium visits & Red Launches is the best yellow (not gold) coins generator.
Gold tokens are another matter .

No hurry to build your T5 or Flight Catering, you can continue to fly Jets until you hit 63 stars.
Do start collecting items for them, though (from flights / from neighbours).

So if I understand, I'm better selling a few coin buildings and replace with housing to keep under the current population cap then work for stars in the meanwhile ?

Yes.
If they are from event or flights, then you might want to shell out whatever it costs to pack them. But the ones from the store are not worth the pop they take.

Thanks, I did some cleanup and switchen from gold building to pax buildings and so far, I'm not struggling as much getting pax and gold income is still good. I build a flight catering facility as i have enough coins for it. I will now cruise a bit collecting stars et completing requirements for a few of my buildings while aiming for the space buildings.
