iOS Mulitple Neighbour requests from "pilot <game code>"

I noticed in the past few days I have been receiving quite a few neighbour requests from users with the game name "pilot" and then a 9 character code.
I am assuming is their game code ? They are on various levels up to 30 with different number of stars .
Are they some kind of "bot" ?
anyone else seeing this ?

my second game already has 4 or 5 similar neighbors.
my main game just got 3 more requests from pilot 04k31czhc, pilot 03d4j703x and pilot 04mpt0r3x since I started typing this entry an hour a ago!

I discovered that when you start a new game now, instead of filling your name in at level 3, it automatically fills in pilot & game code. Hence anyone that hasn't personalised it still has that name.
