Looking for advice on game strategy with 2 x supports

Hello all,

My main game is at level 65, only 200 stars but they're not important to me.
Control Tower level 6 - Terminal level 7.
I have an android and tablet game as well (plus my wife helps out on her phone)
I have kept my plane inventory with Owls - Hawks - Ravens (Just got one Jumbo) and have completed all Eagle flights - sold Eagles.
I am in an alliance and 2 x FR's. Fuel currently only at 40,000. Have 4 million + coins.

My focus/goal is to support red launches on my main game and to acquire adventure buildings to increase pax.
I care little now about completing regular flights and buying larger planes, however, I may be going about this wrong.

1) Is it feasible to just fly Owls to Cape Canaveral, Hawks and Ravens to Observatories and expect to be best supporting launch items? - Along with support games. (These at level 44 only)
2) I have just started getting into adventure/excavation flights, starting with Mesoamerica - HENCE in part, keeping low-level planes.
Again, maybe the wrong strategy, but I don't see the value in moving up the ladder with larger planes and longer flights to achieve my goals.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles

You'll need to complete the "distant prospect" collection and for that to be complete you'll need to fly to Jiuquan (jumbo) and Plesetsk (giant) other than neighbour visits and your own buildings you'll need to fly there one way or the other and/or sooner or later.

For blue and green launches absolutely....

I would suggest not to remain stagnant with only Mesoamerica but to also move up the ladder to up to The Ancient World (jumbo) - this will give Sky captain along with +20 adventure buildings...

Teboho,
Thanks so much for your valuable input, I'm aware that you're a veteran of this game so will take your advice and get flying. Really appreciate it!
Take Care

I'm not sure I clearly understand you goals. I think you have communicated a few short term goals, but not a long term goal.

So, you don't need lots of planes to support adventure flights. You can keep 1 or 2 small planes to do that. I like to do map runs with two planes, sending and returning both of them. While one is fueling and backing from the gate, I'm speeding the other one home.

If you goal is to increase pax, you should get your infrastructure ready to support giant flights at a minimum - and don't buy one, buy two. The adventure buildings will help with population increase, but so would a grand hotel that - if you have been doing lots of green/blue launches - you should have enough silver coins for one.

Some more detail would be helpful

If you fly only to Cape Canaveral and North Observatory (better drops rates here though), and do neighbor visits (I suggest MCC3, red pad, and three planeteriums) you will be good for launches with any color. It might take a few weeks to build up resources, but you will get there. Another bonus with just flying those two is no flight items are required, no buildings to build, etc.

If you have enough collections to start a few launches but need resources, Id suggest hitting up all the cosmic fuel stations you can.

Hi Charles,

With respect to launches, we are all ultimately limited in the number we can do. By that, I mean each launch has a collection that can only be gained from neighbour visits/owned buildings. Whilst both of these can be increased (Friend in need, secret basement, golden toad & horn of plenty bonuses), it’s not an infinite source unless you have deep pockets.

Hence flying for launch items/launch ready will only increase one thing, fuel. Or fuel available per launch.

I am of the opinion that there are 2 ways to launch; launch for quality, or launch for quantity. E.g. do you want to do as many launches as possible for lesser rewards, and less fuel expended, or do you want to launch less often with the better positions?
If you are launching with supports, I guess quality is your preference. A mixture of the two can do wonders for your game.

At a basic level, you should average one of each launch fuel item for 8 launch ready boxes. Considering you need 4 collections (thus LR) per launch, this averages 576 ’free’ fuel to spend per 2 launches.
On a more advanced level, you can consider the PEBs from platinum chests (if you’ve ever won/bought), the Main Stabilisers gained from 1st place launches, and LFTs from bronze/silver chests. If you are regularly launching with supports, you are likely to have more fuel per launch available from your main account. If your supports do not fly for fuel and you only visit with these, you’ll find these have far more preparations than fuel (assuming you do a fairly equal fuel load share between accounts). Hence, it could be worth flying supports for more fuel, but not beyond the resources your main account has. Personally, the less time I spend on a support the better. Equally, these get used once per day. So flight time isn’t a factor for consideration - I’d be chasing the best drop rate.

Adventure buildings will help population, not passenger numbers. Particularly if you are flying these without instant returns and smaller planes - 6H flight with Owls is terrible pax per hour. This changes significantly with the bigger planes - 6H for a giant is relatively quick compared to normal flight times. The long term appeal of adventure buildings, especially lots of them, is ‘bonuses on tap’. E.g. Sky Capt, Vintage Weathervane, Dice, Business Class and I’m sure there are others that people will point out. With enough adventure buildings, you’ll find these bonuses become far more expendable.

Fleet management is never an easy one to answer. There are so many factors. Alliance tasks, alliance desitinations (1000 flight destinations), alliance goals (pax per week), cost, infrastructure (residential and industrial). This links to longer term goals ultimately. Adventure destinations are a great starting point - 6 Lourves (36 sands of time) is a fairly monumental goal for all players. Often space maps are completed around this point too - however the building rewards aren’t that special. The maps from red launches give the Luna park (per 3 collections). Each Luna park adds 100 capacity to your terminal - a nice to have, but at a land cost of 3x3 per building. Each collection from all 5 maps per launch type gives a QL too. Again, QLs are nice, but unless you are an avid user not that necessary to game play.

Later in the adventure flights (e.g. the bigger planes), instant returns become less important. More so as you’ll have more bonuses available by this time too. In the early days where bonuses are tight, maximising each bonus is important. As you progress and these are more available, maximising fuel efficiency becomes more important (e.g. less instant returns). Around this point, starting to look at S3 (alliance) maps could be advisable.

Just a few thoughts. Ask away if you wish.

Firstly, thanks so kindly for your advice, I now have two Giants!
My long term goals are to have a large city, both city side and airport, as well as maxing out the control tower and terminal. I also wish to have as many adventure buildings as possible. Eg-I really want 6 x Planetariums!

I already have all 6 Grand Hotels and will be purchasing land every two weeks (sale times only) for 100 greens.
I recently bought 1 x Courthouse and will purchase the other expensive buildings as coins allow.

Although I said I have little interest in completing regular flights with larger planes, it would seem that idea is out the window, somewhat counterproductive perhaps. If I'm going to purchase larger planes like I just did, guess I should fly them!

Although I'm in an alliance, still not sure if it benefits me long term, other than getting F20 daily from many members (I'm in 2 FR's also).

Again, thanks. It's all so confusing knowing exactly what to do, given there are so many variables with this game.
Regards,
Charles

Mike,
Thanks for your help. I have so many questions but will start with this one.
My supports only have Owls, Hawks and Ravens and are used to fly to Canaveral and Observatories only to get launch items. I fly daily Red launches on the main game and use as little resources as possible from main but use supports to help. 90% of my main launches are with my supports, not neighbours. I also fly supports with green-blue launches twice weekly to help with needed items.

As I have no interest (nor the time) to expand my support games, is it feasible to continue utilising my supports in this manner? I think I only have about a mix of 5 or 6 planes per support.

Thanks again Mike!

My long term goals are to have a large city, both city side and airport,

Hmm, if you are buying Tesla Power Plants, you don't really need that much space on the airport side. If you're going for coal stations, then you will need a lot more space. 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other. Either way, it's greenies for energy or greenies for the land to put the energy on

maxing out the control tower and terminal.

Maxing out the control tower is more important than maxing out the terminal. There are buildings that expand terminal capacity without the very expensive terminal upgrades. Parking lot upgrades are a good way to increase terminal capacity relatively cheaply. But certainly expand the terminal before maxing out your town hall. TONS of other places to get increased population besides the town hall

I also wish to have as many adventure buildings as possible. Eg-I really want 6 x Planetariums!

Adventure buildings - fantastic. Planetariums - me too, expensive though and a gamble. They come from MSB2s. They don't come on sale often but when they do, they are 50 greenies. I have 3 rabbit holes though and no planetariums.

I already have all 6 Grand Hotels and will be purchasing land every two weeks (sale times only) for 100 greens.

Wow, you're way beyond me. My land expansions are still only 70 greens on sale

I recently bought 1 x Courthouse and will purchase the other expensive buildings as coins allow.

I wouldn't worry too much about the expensive buildings - you will get to a point where coins aren't relevant. But certainly courthouse, private school and business center are great ones to invest in

Although I said I have little interest in completing regular flights with larger planes, it would seem that idea is out the window, somewhat counterproductive perhaps. If I'm going to purchase larger planes like I just did, guess I should fly them!

Here is a building worth flying for. https://www.airportcitygame.com/wiki/nuclear_power_plant/. There are others too.

Although I'm in an alliance, still not sure if it benefits me long term, other than getting F20 daily from many members (I'm in 2 FR's also).

Depends on the alliance and their goals. Are you getting weekly alliance bonuses like First Class (increased income) or Maintenance Check (reduced breakdowns)? Are you getting alliance maps to fly for black planes?

Firstly, thanks so kindly for your advice, I now have two Giants!
It's all so confusing knowing exactly what to do, given there are so many variables with this game.

That's what makes it great!

That makes sense and I feel I knew this. I shall focus on upgrading my control tower = more planes/flights!

Is that Mystery Super Buildings or something similar, not sure?

Wow, you're way beyond me. My land expansions are still only 70 greens on sale
Sorry, I meant I buy 100 greenies at a time that cost $14.95. My land is $30 each when on sale.

Okay, good advice. I do have 3 x Private Schools and 1 x Courthouse.

No first class so far. I think I got Maintenance check twice and occasional maps. Will stick it out for a while see how I go.
Thanks again for your input, very helpful!

The supports I launch with, I tend to do visits only (5 x planetariums) time permitting.
Most of these are equipped with Owls and Hawks only. One particularly old game that used to get a bit of play has 1 giant which, when sent, will go to Pletesk.
Generally, I don’t bother sending flights regularly though. Just visit/gift/input bonus codes.

As they launch, they tend to get a build up of fuel in chests/warehouse. Occasionally, if I’m really bored, I’ll use that fuel to fly a green space map. 5 different maps, complete 1 of each and you get a QL. With 100 flights (100 landing lamps), you can see 5-25 collections per map (depending on bonus %age). This isn’t something I rush or chase. I’m quite happy for it to take a few months to fly for 100 landing lamps. I’m not using the QLs very often, just a way to use the resources that build without completely wasting them.
You don‘t need a lot of land/buildings for this at all - a mirror house is great for video speed ups with a few bonus squares around it. I buy land with coins as and when. Lately, I’ve taken to spending the greens on MSB2s (chasing planetariums) in the supersales. This way they can be of some benefit to others too.

But for me personally, the less time I spend on a support daily, the better. If you have no need to fly with them, why spend the time unless it brings you joy?
