I'm afraid I don't know Rsorour... I joined around 5/6 hrs into the launch and only 178 points had been added by Scoob1964 at that point. I only added 50 ish points in case it had been hit by one of the launch bugs but I see some more points have been added now.
Ill stay behind Scoob1964 but do have 1 PEB and 1 MS just in case.

1st position gets a gold chest that includes 1 MS, fuel 150 and launch collection items . (Now ith the most recent update, you get silver tokens; 8 of them i think
2nd and 3rd (treated the same) gets a silver chest that includes 2 Large fuel tanks, 2 fuel (50) and launch collection items and 6 silver tokens
3rd onwards gets a bronze chest that includes 1 Large Fuel Tank and 1 fuel (50) and launch collection items + tokens???not sure how many if any.

So which positions give items towards the alien legacies?

1st place finish will give you something towards the AL; in earlier versions before the tokens subquest addition, you usually get two collection items towards the AL and if you are super lucky, you could get 3 of them. Now with 8 tokess taking up a spot in the chest, you will for sure get one collectible items or 2.
with 2nd or 3rd you will still get something towrd AL totems; may be one item. with a bronze chest, you will most likely get items towards your launch ready item collections not the ALs.
At the end of the day its a random pick just like flight drops. The highest chances for AL-related items will be with a Gold finish (similar to always, often, seldom and very seldom drops with flights)

I have received 2 silvers (2nd and 3rd place) from launches since the update and don't recall receiving any items towards my next AL. Must just be having an unlucky spell. Will keep my fingers crossed for the next chest!
