Is there any method to backup the city layout?

I want to perform major layout changes in my city.

I'm not sure I'll be happy with the results, therefore I'm looking for any backup method, which enables me to restore the city prior to those intended changes.

Any solution for that?

I would just take screenshots. There is no other method.

Try an Excel-sheet or Google spreadsheet to try out your layout! Just use 1x1 blocks, 2x2 blocks and 3x3 blocks with colors to distinguish between residential and commercial areas, and try it out in a limited size area (corresponding to the limited size of your city). There is no method to restore your city if you try it out your city directly

Right!
Time is a precious ultra-valuable resource. I wish I could buy some time with greenies... I wish I had more available time to play.
As I don't, and still I want to play somehow, I have to balance between gaming and life.
