Is Reserve Hangar and Repair Base ramp just a waste of space?

Am I totally missing something here, or is it normal that I have never seen an aircraft on the ramp in the Reserve and Repair area? I started playing this game just last year, before this new ramp area was created. Was still new to the game when the change happened, so was expecting to see some things happening in the game there--instead, I've just been staring at seven parking spots that seem to serve no real purpose? Just eye candy (like sugar free, black licorice eye candy).

Two thoughts -- (1) Move that ramp and those hangars to the south side of the airfield. It looks strange to have large/tall structures in the flight path of runways--there are probably some TERPS Specialists on here biting their fingernails every time they watch a departure. The move might impact the space/energy side of some player's maps, but there's plenty of room to adjust the expansion of those to the east. (2) Once that ramp is moved to a realistic area...USE IT! With all the nickels and dimes (and Benjamins) GI is now making necessary to complete events, you'd think they could hire at least one aviation consultant to tell them the do's/don'ts of airfield layout, and a couple developers who can put together a decent FBO and cargo ramp.

Well, since you don't pay for that space (you used to have to pay for the space every hangar sat on), I'm not sure it's a big deal any longer. Not only hangars, but alliance offices, repair bases etc. So many long time players are super happy to have the space back to use for other things.

As for "using it", if it will add more animations for things I don't care about (like inside the OH or the animation after buying a plane), I don't really want it.

I would rather see them move the baggage hall and the duty free - and maybe even the weather station to the OH area to free up the land for other things. Let's face it - what airport has baggage hall and duty free 2 km from the airport.

And actually, since the baggage hall doesn't even work properly anymore (and it should be IN the terminal anyway), why not remove it altogether.

For starters, just something that looks more realistic--it's not very common to find a hangar in the flight path of a runway, just a few hundred meters from the end. At a real airport, that's a depressing memorial site waiting to happen. By "use it," I'm simply pointing out that GI has an entire side of the airfield that is being under-utilized. Push the space/energy stuff further away, and create an area for ops that don't require a general pax terminal. What respectable airport doesn't have an FBO? An FBO would be perfect for Swift & Thunderbird aircraft (and maybe some new types). What large airport doesn't have at least some cargo operations. A cargo ramp would open up a lot of new possibilities for events, and perhaps a new way to exchange gift items with your neighbors by having cargo planes fly missions between neighbor airports? Would be a lot more interesting to be able to send gift exchange flights to neighbors, than just clicking on a list of names after each day's reset time. Perhaps use 4-5 of the aircraft for cargo with bigger planes (longer flights) capable of carrying an increasing number of items?

Clearly you haven't flown out of Toronto :D

But on a more real note, those are good suggestions. But long time players would rather they focus on 1) fixing bugs, 2) adding more levels, 3) adding another space mission, 4) bringing back discontinued events for the higher level players like The Phantom Menace and By Rocket to the Moon, 5) changing the 100 item cap on inventory (which does nobody any favors). Even 1000 would be better than 100.
