I even don't have an idea how to get 1. I searched around and it seems a mission can give you 1 planetarium and another mission can give you a training center. But after that, are you on your own?
It seems mystery super building can give you training center and mystery super building 2 can give you a planetarium, but it has the odd of 1/10 and each of them costs 99 greenies.

However, the description of the mystery super building is: "You will receive one random building from the previous adventures". So, I am wondering, if I only finish the training center adventure, or the planetarium adventure, am I guaranteed to have the building when I open the box? If so, 99 greenies for a guaranteed planetarium sounds like a OK deal.

Anyway, there is no big difference if you own it or your neighbor owns it since the item drops same way. Also, the yield time is 5h20m. I can access one at most 3 times a day normally (I won't wake up in the midnight just for picking up a game item). It is just 4 good neighbors. But still good to have them to help others.

Not really. It was an event, you could get it this way when the event happened, but it ended. Just like with the current event: it can give you Enigma House now, but once it's over, the Enigma House won't be available this way.

Yes, that's the only way. I've bought well over 100 to get 5 Planetariums, and I gave up after 5th because that's enough for my neighbours to visit. Got shitloads of other event rewards, many of them more than 6, so those are doubly useless to me.

Adventure are the flights from maps collected from excavation flights, they are completely unrelated to event rewards, like Planetarium or Enigma House. The content of a box, like Mystery Super Building 2 is random from a given pool. There is no way to affect eg. Planetarium outcome over eg Collider, just as you can't make Launch Ready box contain Powerful Explosive Bolt over Small Fuel Tank.

You can buy MSB2 for the full price of 99, from Airship Store for 65 or you can wait for the sale that happens about every year that drops the price down. Think about prices in range of 25-15 greens, the exact differs every year, if I remember correctly.

Bottom line: to get Planetariums, you need thousands of greens. To get that, you need CBM, which costs loads of gold and silver tokens. .
So, finally the plan to get Planetariums looks roughly like this:
  1. Earn at least 200 gold tokens (preferably multiple of that, takes about a year). Silver are much easier, but you still need them, don't forget about launching daily.
  2. Wait somewhere between a year or 2 for the CBM to come around and use them to earn greens (involves getting up every 3 hours for 6 weeks to milk the Mint to the last green)
  3. Wait another few months for the MSB2 sale to come around to blow all your greens.
You can do it in about 2-3 years. Getting the CBM elevates your game to another level of (almost) infinite greens, because once you have your Mints, you can restart them anytime you have enough tokens. You get all the land, Tesla plants, Oil Refineries, and Golden Dice at your disposal whenever you want, so it's pretty much a goal of it's own. Planetariums are just icing on the cake.

Great explanation - thanks!

Even though I don’t have any, I believe that, similarly to other buildings, the chances of getting an item are higher with your own buildings than with friends’ ones.
Besides, you can only visit at most 12 neighbors. Having 5 planetariums is like having 16 neighbors to visit ;)

Not 16 neighbour @TeresaLisboa . Its like having 13 neighbours to visit.
