A lot of times? That says you're a very lucky rider!
Well not necessarily. Joining a launch and not adding points always risks you getting a rubbish reward - seasoned astronaut box gives you 3 solid fuel which is always a complete waste for me. However - look at QL launches that often run on Thursdays and Fridays, join one with lots of players actively adding points quickly and you may find yourself also adding 0. Getting a decent reward box for 0 points is more likely if you happen to join any launch where there are only 2 players - check the status every 2 minutes before joining, if it is rapidly increasing points then the players are probably intending to get to launch status irrespective of anyone else joining. Join it and wait a few minutes - they may launch themselves.

But I don't deliberately do that because I like to play the game as a community, and feel that it is better to contribute something to launches where ever possible. But I often find people joining my launches with 0 contribution, so I guess not everybody shares the same sense of gameplay as me. :angelic:

Frequently, I will join a launch that is nearly ready to launch, but no QLs. (or with only an hour or so to go before it expires). I'll join with my 3 games (with QLs active), once people see the QLs they will start adding points, and by the time I get my 3rd game in, it is launching. Like @andy8758 says, the rewards aren't always great, but it's still fun.

I agree with you on playing the game as a community. I believe every participant must contribute responsbily. That's why I created another thread asking the etiquette of contribution. Like mentioned in that thread I came across participants who contributed less than 100 points even I waited until the last minute the player still didn't show any progess. In those cases I like to think they're new players and so I just moved on. But it's still bugging me sometimes.

Btw to the guy who's just hijacked my Blue launch just now when I was busy on phone: F**K YOU!

Let those who add 100 points not bother you, remember that you also save 100. If you start a launch be prepared to close it on your own and alone if needs be (this does happen) so those who add points are there to help you get it off the pad otherwise mark your launches private and also indicate on your avatar what are your expectations.

Take it easy my friend, remember what I said: never leave your launch unattended if your points are below the hijack threshold
