Actually, if you are in the lobby, then you can see if someone has a QL.  If there are 2 or more, it's probably a QL Party.  For that, I would hold back on adding some point items.

A key though, is communication.  If someone says, oops, I accidently opened a launch and I can't take first, then I might take it.
