Gold/silver/bronze

What are the requirements for gold/silver/bronze on launches? Are there set points you put in or is it purely 1st, 2nd 3rd in points put in regardless of how much each put in. I see some posts saying there are silver and bronze spaces open and xxx points put in already as well as the hijacking posts so want to make sure that I don't join one where I put in too much or too little.

Can more than one person get say silver in same launch?

There are no minimum points required for the chests. It is simply the rank of the players when 1600/2000/3000 points have been reached. You can even get a chest if you join but contribute 0 points.

* First place gets gold.
* Second and third both get silver (regardless of who put more points in).
* Fourth and fifth both get a bronze chest.
* Sixth and seventh get "Seasoned Astronaut" boxes.
* Eighth and lower get "Space for Starters" boxes.

I did my first launch using my backup devices for fuel and I can see the standings and how the points work now. Got a helping hand from a neighbor and ended up with first place on 'the wrong' account lol. All a lot clearer after taking the leap though.
