Game not returning the same gift you send

Does anyone know why airport city gift items you send to a neighbor is not the same gift you receive in return. When you send random items like passengers or fuel for example the returned gift is the same, but for most of the other gifts it is not the same. I play an older version i can no longer upgrade on android my phone and also the newest version on my android tablet. When I send a hotel item from one device to another and hit send in return it sends a different hotel item.

u cant return a gift you don't have on your own gift list. thats why

When you send a gift GI somehow interprets the item position in your gift list and give the equivilant position from the receivers list.
At the moment with all the different game variations going on an iPad player sending to an Android player will only be sending a random gift.
iPad to iPad, android to android should get the same. Not sure if the iPhone is the same as the iPad game
