General Cost of building storage

Out of curiosity does anyone know what determines the cost of storing buildings?
Is it a specific amount for each building or perhaps determined by some metric
or a combination therein?

initial building price, event reward buildings are mostly 4800.

Well that makes a bit of sense but not accurate on all buildings. I was asking as I
kind of wanted to stow a few of my catering they wanted 70% of cost. That is a bit more than
I really wanted to spend. On the newer production buildings they want 80% of cost so
kind of confusing on their thought process. Guess I'll just leave them until I have literally
nothing to spend on.

I thought about it on numerous occasions when I had sufficient funds but opted for those expensive passenger buildings every time... And, by the way, I still need to get the Courthouse first!

Yes, true. I started with Casino. It was for 10 gold tokens and not sure how many green tokens, when first offer started. Since then, all is much easier. I hope such offers (Casino, Bank or Mint) will repeat in future. So, it is good to have some gold and silver tokens on stock. Always!
