There are lots of strategies for this game. And in the later stages, there are other ways to gather coins quickly. But in the earlier stages of the game, the single best way to gather coins is to land lots of guest planes - the bigger the better. https://www.airportcitygame.com/threads/benefits-of-landing-guest-planes.32868/

By the time you get to runway level 3, you start getting Chess table and Puzzles of the past collections worth 1600 coins. Once your runway gets to level 6 and can land jumbos, you can start to get collections worth 2000 coins. The more guest planes you land, the more collections you will get. And things like dice, golden dice and spy glass increase drop rates from guest planes. So if you have these bonuses running make sure to land guest planes - they arrive once every 30 seconds.

......and check some of those buildings carefully for bonus coins, as some will supply extra for a certain radius around them! You can surround your bigger value buildings around them for higher yields! Takes some studying tho. Same with your passenger buildings.
