iOS Any precautions needed when traveling across time zones?

Recently I've seen quite some remarks of people getting their game blocked, sometimes because of changing settings on their device. This made me wonder about the following...

Is there any risk of running into issues when traveling between (many) time zones? Are any precautions needed, e.g. is it ok keep my device on automatic time settings?

I want to bring my (iPad) game with me while traveling, but want to prevent any problems. I know I would be so grumpy if my game would be blocked for a couple of days lol

I travel all over the world with my iPad and iPhone and would get the timetraveller problem frequently

I used to have the time locked to prevent it but GI did done work on the time traveller issue so now I have no oroblems at all on iPad or iPhone when I travel through time zones.

I switched my tablet to manual. It stays in the same time zone no matter where I go.

Can't rely on it for the time but my game is safe.

Thanks @Ddave1 and @drivefast99, sounds like switching it to manual might be the safest option. But good to hear there are less problems with this than there used to be!

Haha yes I might need to rethink that strategy Any better suggestions? I guess I just want to avoid being blocked for being naive...

I'd just leave it where it is.

The main key is do not travel back in time. If you left the game at 5pm, do not open the game at 4pm. You will stand a good chance of being accused of time traveling.

I find it easier just to keep it from updating to network time.

I travel between the UK and Canada a lot, my ipad is left on auto so switches time zones every 3 weeks. Touch wood as yet i have not had any problems at all, never once had the dreaded blocked message. Watch me get it now on friday when i return to the uk !!
