Very timely I've devoted 4 planes to the Crest destinations to stock up on the spyglasses.
Gives me something to do while flying Jumbos and Giants.

Just to update, have been flying steadily for Crests got 2 of each except Iceland. Now running 3 PDs there, with none in sight. Maybe I need the dice to get them faster??

I would advice to try flying to adventure destinations - to get adventure buildings - they drop collection items and after lot of hard work (it takes a lot of time fuel repair items) but at the end you will not need to fly to any collection required destinations.

Thanks (I think) @Kesh So you think I'm wrong to fly destinations for Crests?
Are there adventure buildings that give certain collection items like the Crests for the spyglass?
Is there a difference between how many of the right adventure blgs I'd have to collect? Could you give me an example of what an adventure bldg drops? Same thing , different items, every time?

Adventure & Excavation just keeps me confused. Yes, have read the guide and have @Bob1977 spreadsheet. It just doesn't click in my thick old head

@Mia simply stated excavation flights are needed to acquire maps for adventure destinations.
So if you look at the different excavation destinations the five destinations listed below any excavation
need maps acquired from that excavation destination.

Out of all the crests I find the Iceland one the more difficult to get

Which would be best bonus's for adventure flights. Am I correct in thinking standard dice for the initial map drops - i.e. Mesoamerica and then golden dice for the excavations - i.e. Machu picchu

All adventure buildings drops same items - collection items (except alliance, event and space items). All other can drop from them at random. And yes it's worth flying for adventure as crest is not the only collection. There are all other helpful bonuses.

1) Adventure flights require maps that lasts only for 6 hours.
You must dedicate 6 full hours to maximize the number of flights and maximize item drops. Usually that require fuel to speed up planes & golden dice to increase chance of item drop.

The first mother map e.g. Mesoamerica (Aztec) will drop "Map Chests" which randomly gives maps to 5 meso-americanic cities. Each city will only (seldom) drop one type of item, so you must get 5 maps and fly to all 5 cities to complete a collection made up of 5 items. Since the maps are random, you need to open like 10 maps to get the right maps for 5 cities.

When you finally complete a collection, you will get an Adventure building (e.g. Aztec Pyramid) + 1 Large Bronze Chest (contains 6 silver tokens, Fuel(50) and item for space launch).

However, you may want to complete 6 collections. Here's why:

2) When you complete at least 1 time the initial 5 Adventure collections (Aztec, Roman, Druid, Pharoah, Zeus), you will get a Sky Captain bonus + 1 Golden Chest (3 gold tokens, 10 silver tokens, Fuel(150) + 2items for space launch). Complete each collection 6 times, and you will get another Special building (e.g Louvre).

The special buildings drops many useful, albeit random items that will eventually complete some collections that was previously missing an item. It used to drop Alliance collection items too (Ski resort & Xmas Tree in particular).

Golden Chest gives precious gold tokens for buying S2/S3 planes, and also the most coveted Casino / Bank / Mint (if it is ever offered again).

2. Try to 3-star on regular flights to earn coins to build useful buildings
3. Capture every greenies freebies for land expansion
4. Prep for event as I failed the curse of the kings (drop rate was horrible without bonuses)

The other big dilemma is which buildings to upgrade next with limited coins earned and limited space available:
1. Build more flight catering?
2. Upgrade control towers to have more planes?
3. Upgrade oil refinery to lv2?

Currently, I run 1 powerful propeller to get Cyrus crest; 2 TP to collect landing lamps (only SF is left to 3-star); 2 jets and 1 delta to work on most of those locations.

Any suggestions are welcome and thanks!

a) Actually, the most important thing in Airport City is to get neighbours with 5 / 6 planetariums. It is the easiest way to earn coins.
Add @Robby Kusuma 's games - he is looking for more neighbours.
b) Do not get hooked on Fuel(20) to speed up planes. Use it sparingly and only on Adventure Maps / Urgent new Quest flights.
c) Keep planes in the air as much as possible. Plan your flights so that intervals between flights matches your fuel replenishment rate.
d) No need to 3 star Egypt, Turkey, Bali, Nice as you will need to revisit these cities in future task and to collect Landing Lamps / Beacons.

Suggestions:
Find forum friends on the same level as your are. They probably need the same items as you do and will be willing to trade.
Post daily in the Daily Trading Thread so that people know what you can gift (you need to add your gift list to your sig).
If you post a snapshot of your city, many people will give you more advice on what you should do.

I would not say what I have, but mine is very helpfull.
I put them separate to make sure you will not tap the wrong buildings.

I always hitback flight items, repair items and Fuel/Passengers from all games.

@Bali Hi just small correction, regular adventure collection will not give you Sky Captain, but if you get collection from 5 different destinations (mesoamerica, rome, stonehendge, egyp and greece) then you'll get sky capt and golden chest.
Otherwise great explanation on adventure tasks.

I'm so tempted too try this instead. Do you guys stop and continue around events?
How many TPs? are needed to do 6 hr marathon.?

Thanks Bali for all the tips! I've been doing what you mentioned and I don't normally speed up planes unless I have excess fuel before I log off game for awhile. I am saving up extra fuel for event or adventure only. I always buy the 10min fuel from fuel station if I am around the ipad. I'll check out the daily trading and constantly look out for more tips from you guys. Thanks!!

more is better. But for example i flew with only one with instant return. At that time point i had decent amount of stashed fuel and repair items. 60 fuel is needed for one flight instant return. And 36 or 37 passengers. It's pure math for 100 - 125 flights ( bonuses included).

I'm now flying with falcons. With some bonuses and S3 falcons (12 of them), one round is around 37 minutes. It takes 350x12 passengers and 45x12 fuel per round. Drops in 6 hours are between 20-30. So 2 maps from each destinations are enough.
