Hi all.

I'm pretty new to the game, and really enjoying it. Just wondering if there are any rules about how many ads there are available daily, as they seem to run out at different times.

Sometimes the ads option disappears, but then returns mysteriously a few hours later and I get to watch the same hilarious ad for Guns of Glory for another 5 times and get my few silver sickles to feed the bunnies hoping for an Easter egg and get maybe 15 more cupcakes (that is seriously making such a tiny dent in the numbers required in the Easter challenge).

Sometimes there are no ads available at all (like today) and I don't get to repeatedly watch the pirate dude take revenge on the bullying sea captain in return for an archive rack for my Town Hall 5 - I'm giving up on the bunnies.

So, is there a set amount of ads or is it random? Also, if I watch an ad, say for tagging one more of my neighbour's buildings, does that mean there'll be one fewer ads available for other aspects of the game?

I have never counted but I think there are about 10 free ads each day. And yes, I can see how you would think they disappear then "return mysteriously" later. Depending on your time zone, the game may reset in the middle of your day.

And yes, if you use the ad to tap something else in a friend's city, there will be one less for you to use to get items for buildings.

Use your ads wisely: It may seem like a good idea to spend them all at the beginning of the day, but you'll soon run into situations where you would love to have ads available but are forced to wait until the next day (e.g., repairs). That said, I believe for the ads you need to have a connection to the GI-servers (and hence, connection to the internet). Sometimes these servers are a little bit lagging (you might also notice for instance, that if you start a space launch, it will take a couple of minutes before you see a list of other people who are currently launching. I believe this is the same issue). Not much you can do about that, but overall you will often have about 'ten-ish' (~10) ads to watch (I can't say for sure it is every day the same number of ads). Make sure your internet-connection is strong enough, and wait a couple of minutes after you visited you last ad to re-check you don't have an ad missing (if it doesn't show up immediately).

The ads are great for new players, usually it is very difficult to trade with other players as they are focusing on certain goals and rather trade fuel or catalyst, rarely flight items due to the limitations. I am using all ads to get all items to finish buildings with just one exception, if there is a gifting goal in daily missions.

Use ads for building upgrade items when nobody want to trade with you. Or emergency cases like breakdowns. This usually happen with Falcon or Giants. Usually when I'm sure those planes will not return until the next morning I will clear my unused ads for F20.
