I just checked and it looks like the issue has resolved on its own.

This must be an issue with the latest AirportCity update. Other games on the windows store use the currently set country's currency except AirportCity which has switched to USD after the last update.

The tooltip says nothing drops, so no.

I think the developer intentionally makes tasks require tons of clicking. This way your mind will be programmed to click without reading so that you click popups that steal your greenies :)

I didn't know that Dice and Golden dice are effective on the first 10 flights only! The devs should really include this information on the item's tooltip!

I have updated to 4.8.11 on PC and have noticed drop rates for Gates of Hell collection have increased significantly. I used Spy Glass+Dice+Golden Dice and was getting about 75% drop rate on GoH collection items from burnt trees in my city. I will wait for my planes to return to see if Cold War...
