It does not just reset the zoom, it also switches from grid view to full view while it still thinks it is in grid view since it shows the X on the grid view to turn it off:

I doubt they'll allow more than 6 of any kind apart from planetariums and such, so keeping 6 of each should be sufficient. With the average per hour, you should keep in mind the space they require. E.g. the bowling earns me 59 per hour but takes 2*2 fields while the pharmacy "only" earns 19...

I have a favourite view of my still small city where I can see everything at a glance. All coin and passenger producing buildings as well as the runways. Therefore, I do not wish to be scrolled through my city any time I accept a guest plane and certainly not when I accidentally click on land...

Welcome. The forum will surely help you with a lot of information on the game but the more important part is that you can trade with people from the forum if you put your needed items and those that you can send in your signature, so that should be one of the first things you do.
