I don't think you need to be neighbours to join an alliance? I might be wrong but I think you can ask to join any alliance and the leader, presumably, has to accept you. You get four options when you open the alliance screen, but you can also search for specific alliances.

I miss not being able to see when your next plane is due to land on the radar. Not a show-stopper but a bit annoying.

Started a Green launch yesterday. A few hundred points to go and it WILL take off; I am just adding fuel slowly at the moment. Launch ends in about 5-6 hours so if you want to pick up an easy 2nd/3rd feel free to jump on board. MD
