For several months now I have experienced extreme slow game play and multiple program crashes. This happens consistently on ipad and pc platforms. Wifi is not the issue as I play on various unrelated networks and have tried turning off wifi with no noticeable improvement. I have been playing Airport City for a least 4-5 years and have not noticed this degradation in game play until this year. Could it be the size of my game I have built over time? I am at the frustrating point of deleting this game even though I have spent hundreds of dollars on it. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks

Same here (windows version from microsoft store).
I think GI messed up with one of the game's updates several months ago, and -as usual- never bothered to fix the problem, though a lot of people reported the same issue here, on their official facebook page and via the support automated process.
Downloading the windows version directly from Gi helped me deal with the problem, as it is a different, more stable platform from the MS version. You 'd have to link your game to the new platform though

This situation did not occur, it's just that there is a delay of a few seconds in accessing neighbors compared to before
No, different issue.
It's been more than 6 months that it started crashing every few minutes without saving any progress.
Unless you repeatedly visit Madlen or small village like a maniac, which does not stop the crashing, but it saves some of your actions.

My suggestion is to use Windows system backup or IOS system backup, restore the system, and reinstall the game
I personally use game transmission codes on three computers, so no matter which computer has a system issue, I can handle the problem and then switch back to the computer I use most often

Thanks for the tip, but after a recent windows clean install, it's clearly not a pc issue, but a game issue.
Besides, as mentioned earlier, the problem lies in the MS version, not in the GI version, though they are (and were) both installed on the same pc. The later works fine while the former crashes every 2-5 minutes. So it's most probably a matter of the game itself. By observing all those countless crashes, i came to the conclusion that it crashes whenever it tries to connect to the servers to update the progress. Unsuccessfully of course.

A lot of people do and it is normal, but another lot of people do and it isn't.
Ι believe it is a known issue for a long time now, since it is reported repeatedly by many different people. For instance:

and dozens of other threads here and comments on airportcity's facebook page.

So obviously something is wrong with the game. Perhaps it does not cooperate with specific pieces of hardware, i don't know. But i do know that running the MS version uses 90 to100% of my cpu, every time, while the Gi version doesn't. Just a long shot: maybe the issue occurs when cpus with onboard graphics are used?

I have the MS version. Have been using it for 5 years. I have not noticed any difference in the lagging or crashes. I still visit Madlen after collecting gifts, moving several buildings, getting an important drop, etc.
Sorry you all are having these issues!
Thanks. I got this tip to visit Madlen from your comment on another thread. And it worked as suggested.

I have been recalling the game issue you encountered just now.
My suggestion is: if there is another computer or laptop, transfer the game you are currently experiencing the problem to another computer and see if there is the same problem.
If the second computer works normally, then it should be a problem with the computer system you are currently using (it may be a system or a hardware conflict); If the same problem occurs, it may be unsolvable

I HAD this same problem, and it persisted, much like your game for several months. When I lost my game, I would also lose my ID on the game version from the Microsoft store. I then, would have to restore my game from my tablet and contact APC support to restore my game completely. After losing the game MANY times and being told, all kinds of stores. I finally reach someone in support, who fixed my problem, and my game has NOT crashed again after several months. MY suggestion, document each service request number and keep adding those requests for support with each NEW requested for support. This seems to elevate your issue, to a more experience group. GOOD LUCK!!!

Personally i'm good with the GI version of the game, but am glad the original poster has two more options to try as to not delete the game.
I have to highlight though, that a real support team of a serious company would try to address an issue reported so many times for so long by so many people and would definitely make the process of elevating the issue to more experienced employees an internal one.

I've also been having this issue - at first it wasn't too bad, it might crash every now and then, and after a decent amount of time, but now it's constant. Every single time I log in the game it crashes within 2-3 minutes and likely remembers very little of what I just did, if anything. I really can't play the game at all anymore as a result.

I wanted to ask if you could clarify a few of the possible fixes you mentioned:
1) you mentioned visiting Madlen - what does that mean exactly? Just going in to visit or actually having to click on buildings in Malden's city? What does this do that it helps?
2) You mentioned the MS version versus the GI version - how can I tell which I'm using? I'm playing on a PC/windows. If I find that I am using the MS version, how would I go about getting and using the GI version without loosing what I've done to date in the MS version?

Also, I'm not able to do what flyhores suggests with another computer since I only have one computer, but do you think it would be helpful to try on an iphone? It's a much much smaller screen than my PC but if it doesn't crash that would be a big plus. If I do that, how would I link it to my user ID?

Just visit Madlen and then return to main page. No need to click any building. It's like forcing a server update and the result is that your progress until that point will be saved, new gifts and visits from your neighbors will appear and your runways will be cleared from ongoing and outgoing traffic.
To distinguish which version is installed on your pc, just click the start button on your desktop. The GI version is marked like in the pic below. Alternatively, you can load the game and click on it's settings. Current GI version is 8.33.10 while MS is 8.33.8.

To install the GI version download it from there: https://www.game-insight.com/en/games/airport-city
To link your game, in order not to lose your progress, first play the new version until you reach level 3 (if i recall correctly), shut it down, reload your old version and link your game from the settings (link progress).

You need to note the code generated, close the old game and restart the new one. You then enter the code within 10 minutes and your game is linked, aka your account is restored on the new game/platform.
I haven't done this for a while, so please read carefully the GI instructions: https://gameinsight.helpshift.com/h...e-progress-on-multiple-devices-using-gi-link/

I guess you could make a rehearsal with your iphone before installing GI version on your pc just to familiarize yourself with the process. It's consider a different platform though, the GI version is only for desktops. I haven't had any problems so far with the android version, but as you said the screen is so small i don't find it playable.

Good luck!

Thank you for your excellent post explaining how to link to the GI version of the game. I have been suffering game crashes on 3 fuel rings.

Hopefully that will be a thing of the past.

Now if I could find out how to stop the pesky crows from c......g all over my keyboard, life would be grat 🤣

Thank you Harcourt!

They say crows are incredibly intelligent birds with problem-solving abilities and memory skills. Playful too and very friendly with people they like.
Isn't that worth of a frequent cleaning of just a keyboard?
