Will iOS get extended time on the event?

I'm not sure if this is completely true, I've heard this from a couple of players and maybe others can attest -- if you are an old player with a new device, you may open a ticket and GI will lift the limit.

My personal take is, GI is making this game increasingly difficult for newer / intermediate players. Those with an extensive airport and advanced buildings have no issues grinding out bonus week in, week out; the rest have to grind bonuses (SC,SG) by normal flights and the decrease in drop rates...

I receive a notification informing me to join my friend's launch, today. However, I'm unable to ascertain which (green, blue, red) to launch, and I won't want to commit to one then realize it's not the right launch. Anyone has the same experience or am I missing something?
