Weekly Alliance Mission flights - online only?

Not sure if this is already posted somewhere but here goes...

I just learned today that the weekly alliance mission flights are only available if you are online. I was out shopping. I have bonuses activated and waiting for my planes to land. When they finally landed, I tried to send them back out again but won't let me because I am offline. Why not make them accessible even during offline? What's the point of making them online only? Since there is a time constraint, shouldn't they even more accessible? People are not always online all the time.

They are online only for you are working with other players. That is their reasoning. I know- it's stupid for it can simply keep count and update when you go back online.

if your in australia, telephone boxes have free wifi

junk food places have it, the popular ones
