How about if you have an excess of an item you don't want but can't give to neighbors fast enough, you could sell them to other players? Let's say I am willing to part with Flight Catering x20. Using the Auction House, I could sell it to other players for gold, greenies or a combination of the two. For example, I could sell those 20 flight catering for 2 greens and 2,000 gold to any player that wants them. All prices/item quantities are set by the player at the time of the listing, and all listings would have a limited duration (maybe 24 hours at most). If I needed a particular item, I could buy them from another player.

This Auction House function could be accessed in-game.

20 flight catering for 2 greenies + 2000 coins ? Personaly, I would never buy this ! I would rather ask friends to send me them for free !

But, for 100 coins, maybe it could be a good idea !

I like the concept. I wouldn’t buy it either, but I’m sure there are plenty of newer players who would.

It would result in a redistribution if greenies away from new players towards the older ones, which I doubt meets GI’s objectives, but I like it.

I’ve played with something similar in another game where you pay in game currency (coins) to access the auction house, the more you pay, the more items you can list/see, and every 5 minutes your selection of items you can purchase refreshes.

It’s a great idea. I would love to be able to reduce the number of some of the items i have in the warehouse. Maybe just being able to sell them back to GI for coins would be a simple start to the process.

I’ve got over 800 blankets and no plans to buy any Giant planes to use them on in my second account game. Even a few coins per blanket would be nice.
