Gathering Launch Resources From Kits

This question was posted in a different thread, but to give it more visibility, I'm posting it here to get more feedback (thank you @LjGibbs @Husam and @Pit1024 for your feedback so far) Question below:

For all the players out there who have a large supply of launch resources (more than 50 PEBs for example), I have two questions in regards to your resources:
1) How were you able to accumulate so many items? How long did you go without launching in order to build your supply?
2) How have you been able to maintain your collection and prevent it from dwindling?

I know about visiting neighbors and having the launch item buildings (I have 6 rocket gardens and 4 alien legacies), therefore accumulating items isn't the real issue. I can easily stop launching for months and build up my stores. The issue is maintaining the stash once you accumulate it. You can blow all your resources in just one QL party if it's a long one. However, there are many players who do launches everyday and have a large supply at their disposal all the same. I just want to know if there is something amiss in terms of ability to accumulate items at a fast enough rate to counter the loss due to daily launches.

I am not one of those players with huge resources, far from it :(

Two things occur to me.

1) Back in the day you could visit neighbours planetariums with GD active and get a flood of items. In the last month I kept records I had 950 launch chests in
July 2016. giving 44 PEBs, 94 MSs, 143 LFTs.

2) There was a 'bug' which was only fixed some time last year. As I understand it,(because I did not exploit it myself !) it enabled you to add items in launch prep without downdating your stocks. eg. Start with 44 PEBs, add 3 PEB.s to launch, still have 44 PEB's in stock.

3) So you can see that after 3 months of multiple daily launches your stock of PEBs would be around 140, MSs 300, LFTs 400.

So rest assured you are not missing anything with your gameplay. It is just that the experienced players were able to exploit the bug !

Thank you very much for being honest and clearing that up for us, it's much appreciated at least we have some insight now into this, it's been frustrating some of us for a while.
At least we know now that we are not missing something or can do anything more than we are already doing.

I really think that may be it Harcourt. It's the common denominator for players who have high stocks vs those who dont, and it would explain the difference. However, with the bug fixed, maintaining that supply shouldn't be very easy, especially if they launch daily or have QL parties often, hence the second part of my question. Appreciate the feedback....very good info here.

@Winitall63 and @Steveb care to share your experiences with maintaining launch item stocks?
For me I didn’t really launch much when I first started playing so when it came time to launch, I was near enough at capacity with launch items, I try to have a friend in need bonus active each week which allows you to carry out 10 actions on neighbours cities each day than 5. This gives me at least 8 launch boxes a day.

I also have 6 rocket gardens, 6 space travel monuments, 6 alien legacy, 6 castles, 1 training centre, 1 planetarium, and 2 academies which also give drops each day. Add to that I constantly have two flights two jiquan and 2 to plesetsk which all add to launch boxes.

As @Harcourt say is true.
But i will tell you about me visiting daily but the important thing and change my game as many players here they know me when i join the forum i was about 25 or 30 stars and in 2 years 500 stars and very big stock the reason is my team in rocky group how this work i will tell you how team work to save prep items:
They support me in launches the time was GD work perfect i just put 2 points to 12 points and guess what i took 2nd place in launch with this amount i did thousands of launches with them up to know in 1 and half year you do the math how many launches i took first place with just 256 points or 2nd or 3rd place with 12 points this is true thats why give me a big chance to save prep.
I am not only the one let me tell you something here in the forum there is many players like me they did they have support team from along time.
After 1 and half year they help me now i did the same with my team if someone need support i add a lot of points in his launch and he kick me out then he/she take first place with just few points and so on.
Our private group (One for all and all for One) we spend hours and hours daily sometimes we do launches 24h i sleep they keep doing i wake they sleep :D it is like we do it as one person.
So make your group or team start from now and i am sure after few months someone else will ask you how you save and your answer will the team work ;)
last thing make team for 25 players no more do not thing more will help no way we have good experience with groups and grow up with your team.

Fully agree about teamwork. My launch group The Supernovas have been very helpful on several occasions. However, as much as I love my group, we each have different agendas as well, and our goals may not always align. At the end of the day, I am the captain of my own plane, and I have to make certain decisions myself. Launch groups are perfect for QL parties or if you all have similar launch goals, but it is up to the individual to determine how he/she will gather the necessary materials.
