For those of you saying you only get a few Launch Ready boxes daily, try waiting to visit neighbors until it's a few hours before the reset. Here's an example of what I do:

At 4PM EST I will use a Golden Dice Bonus. Then I will visit my neighbors clicking on Planetariums only. The reset occurs at 7PM EST and the Golden Dice lasts 6 hours so I will make sure to visit my neighbors again shortly after the reset. Once more I only click on Planetariums. By doing this is usually complete between 100-120 space-related collections, thus yielding 100-120 Launch Ready boxes. While the GD is still active I open the boxes.

The more boxes, the higher likelihood of PEB, in my experience. With this method I typically get 4-6 PEB. GD doesn't affect the drop rate of items from boxes so you don't have to open them immediately. I normally get 4-6 PEB/100. Still not great, but better than only getting 1-2/day.

It doesn't matter how many boxes you have to get more PEBs (if that's the true I should have every second chest PEB as I have more then 2000 unopened ones). At some points of the day I noticed increased chance for PEB occurrence. For example today I opened 100 chests and got 9, Usually after I open 10 or 20 if I don't get PEB, I stop and try in some different time. It does not matter if gold dice is active at the moment of opening chests. All this is just my subjective opinion after 3y of playing

Oh, I definitely realize GD doesn't affect the drop rate. Based on the experience of others from that thread and mine personally it seems like 4-6/7 per 100 is average so I was just commenting on that aspect of it. I shouldn't have phrased it that way. It's likely just a mental thing of "thinking" you get more because you're opening more boxes so naturally you should get more, but the rate is still the same. I haven't noticed the different time of day thing, though. Unless maybe I just luck into opening that at the magic hour, which I won't complain about lol

4 to 7 PEBs is the normal drop rate. It's that 8th, 9th or 10th PEB that makes it happy hour or not.

I can confirm that this is accurate. Just used the Jar of Diogenes and it doubles the XP of every action including collections, flights, spaceship launches, etc.

@Kesh How on earth do you have over 2000 unopened launch ready boxes? I understand saving them, but how have you been completing launches in the meantime without those resources? Or did you take a break from launches and stockpile?

@CharisseNicole I'm trying that GD trick tonight! Didn't visit my neighbors last night, so I'm ready for a double dip this evening. Also, I added you as a neighbor :)

I've noticed a 250%+ increase in my drops using the GD double dip. Love it!

And to throw in my 2 cents about Kesh, if you do a lot of red QL parties, you don't even necessarily have to use resources other than solid fuel (if anything) if you just want to complete the launch, get a little $$ and Fuel 50.

When you launch with many people, everybody doesn't have to add much. It's the single, uncoordinated launches that are so exhausting.
If you don't want very high places, you can easily go for months without using a single Main Stabilizer or PEB (and other items are usually in excess anyway) while still doing dozens of launches a day.

With golden dice and friend in need bonus I get 100-120 chest per day. Friend in need bonus allow you to tick 10 instead of 5 neighbor building. I was stashing collections for few months before autumn update - after the update I collect those collection and that left me with 2500 launch boxes - now I don't have enough time to open them in my "lucky time"
