It strikes me that an awful lot of posting space is taken up with posts listing what has been sent to who - I think this may be a hangover from the days when gifts were not getting through (especially cross platform) Now that the gifting seems fairly reliable might it not be an idea to save space by not listing them. Also the many "thanks" messages - I think we can take it as read that we receive what is sent and that we are all grateful for each others gifts. Leaving out these kind of posts would make it much easier to find ones highlighting changing needs or urgent needs etc as we don't all have the time to read, or update, all the signatures every gifting day.

Hopefully if this was implemented then it would be feasible to have one weekly trading thread covering all platforms as most posts would 1-2 lines at most - with the longer more general discussions (like this) moving here

I agree with the above, also the huge amount of page space that is taken by some signatures. Could we find a way to reduce the signature space available, would people favour that?
(Would have posted that in the mods forum first, but seem to have lost my access to that last week and my title...........)

the idea is good but because there are many diverse people on the forum. Which means there are many different methods of manners which includes thanking people for something they receive.
There also many different level of players who need different items but do not post their level. So how would someone send an item unless they are asked for.

Signatures are important as it is where you list what you need and what you can give - the space can be reduced by hiding some sections using the spoiler feature as I have done in mine - however I wouldn't want the overall space available to be limited

I have just noticed that if you don't want to view signatures you can hide them in settings/preferences. It is worth taking the time to explore settings as you can do an awful lot there to personalise your experience

The forum search function doesn't work in signatures at all though so for that one it won't matter.

For the "manual" ctrl+f and similar searches it's a negative though.

It is, but "search" does not work in spoilers.

I haven't researched the spoiler thing (hence my signature violation below), but I think one way of being able to search:
Create a "sticky" thread where everyone can post ONLY what they are able to send. People can search that post and contact people either via PMs or in the trading area.

Flaws:
People would have to update their posts when trading items change.
Unless we could add a last login date automatically in the post, people who have come and gone would still be searchable.

@must_dash - Welcome back. It's old school folks like you that make it difficult for me to delete people. The hope that people come back. I'll send you invites from UM and UM Phone whenever I have the devices and a computer together.

I'll look out for you, I need friends with higher levels.

I agree with you GbsWales ! Particulary with the player who send the same message at each day like : here is 4h30 am time ,I have sent my gift to...I have receive those gifts..ETC !
I think that kind of players post that just for going( ...like a child...) for the top Monthly poster ( when we have Nothing to say that is better to say Nothing....) !
I can understand when a new player arrive and has to settle his neighbours and gift ...But for the experimented player that kind of Baby's Posts are disturbing !

Though there have been a couple players that have done that to achieve top poster it is rather rare. I know of quite a few players that post daily like that but have never been anywhere close to being top poster ever. I post random thoughts at times and some times am on the list, but surely will never be top poster as I don't have that much random stuff to say. :ROFLMAO:
