I actually completed cold war collection on both games. Flew mostly giants, thunderbirds, and falcons and used up a whole lot of my fuel! (flew big planes because I was also trying to help keep alliance passengers up). I had quite a few spy glasses before I started - I think I used 5 or 6. I used sky captain continuously. I bought golden dice 2x to use while visiting neighbors, but didn't notice any increased drops. My 2nd game was waaaaaaaaay behind my main game up until the last several days, then started dropping left & right. No rhyme nor reason - same planes, same bonuses. :confused::confused::confused: They both finished within a day of each other.

I'm still trying but not holding my breath though I am much closer than many.

WP > 4 - 1 - 0 - 4 -1 with 1 completed collection

I didn't really use any extra fuel and only had bonuses activated twice for GoH and once for some extra particulate filters.
I feel the drop rate is so low that bonuses are negligible, I mean the bonus tacked on to 1% - 2% isn't really going to be
noticeable.

2-4-6-4-1 = 1 completed collection, used about 10 sky captains, 4 golden dice, 5 dice and 15 spy glass on this event and Cold War has been useless for drops. Not to mention about 12000 extra fuel units. Gave up and decided to get my 6th Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre instead. I feel for players who have no bonus' and have been no where near finishing. I had the first 2 sections complete well over a week ago but Cold War had proved elusive. Back to flying for stars for me...

Edit - using *blaze404* code I got a tank body and absorbent granules so only 1 more absorbent module to get 3/3 collections.

I completed CW collection 3x. Costs for only this was 8 greenies for 2 golden dices, use 2 dices, 2 sky capt, 2 spy glass, 2 business class, around 15000 fuel, 175 landing lamps and 2 family tickets. As I would spend greenies for golden dices even if there is no event , only fuel was real expence. And 1 alarm clock.

Lucky you. I just cant get Vacuum pumps. They are pain. Had 200+ flights yesterday and today, all bonuses that are profitable (except Crystal Ball, but might be helpfull) and got 0 (zero!) drops. Spent probably 10x more bonuses then you, no help. CW: 3-4-0-4-5 :blackeye:

Luck is very relevant. I had to start the game once from scratches, lost huge amount of items second time when my game reseted back 6 months, picked empty city bug, had game in endless loop for 2 weeks. Still missing 32 ql and 2000+ space chests, fuel, 100+ PEBs and 36 golden chests for adventure and numerous other things. So i wouldn't call myself lucky - i had almost every bigger problem this game have.

So it looks like this event was designed to deplete our fuel & bonuses and then to use greenies. Not surprising actually. Buy the reward. :hilarious: Oh well... not going to spend that much just to get the reward building.
